I'm sure these sisters are going to grow up to be the greatest of friends.  I photographed them in their home, which I love to do.  Something about little one's in the own familiar space helps them to relax.  Once this mama received her images, this is what she replied:  

"Mandy you are SO, SO amazing at what you do!!!!  You captured us so well my heart melted more, and more, and more with every picture I flipped through! One would never know "H" was so upset. I am very pleasantly surprised at all the gorgeous shots you got of her!  And of course Miss "B" posed like a little beauty too ;)."

Princess session give away - Saskatoon photographers

A couple of days ago I had something so inspiring in my inbox.  A client of mine contacted me saying she wanted to make a donation, giving a little princess who is not be able to afford professional photography one of our princess sessions.  Seeing this heartwarming email has inspired me to join in on the giving!  Our client has already purchased a princess session for a deserving princess, and We will be donating our "Snow White" package which includes 12 digital files, 2 lockets (one for the princess and one for her queen), and a Bragbook.  The total prize package is worth $498.  Here are the details on how to enter:

-We are asking that you nominate someone who you think would be a perfect candidate for the prize.  (Someone who truly can't afford professional photography).  Yes, you may nominate yourself.
  
-Please email us why you or the person you have nominated would be a deserving candidate for this free session.  memoriesbymandy@shaw.ca, subject:  Princess nomination.  (No facebook messages please.)  The contest entry is for one princess only and must be between the ages of 6 months (sitting on their own) to 7 years old. 

-We will then choose a winner based on all of the entries.  Please provide us with the names (of both mom or dad and princess), address, email and phone number of the person you are nominating, as well as the age of the princess.  

-The nominee must be available at 1:15pm on February 1 for the session.

catching up - Saskatoon photographers

This little trio has been in front of my camera before.  When they called me up to do their photos again this year I was thrilled!  I say it all the time, but I love getting to know families and photographing them over the years.  It has been a couple of years since I last saw them, but it felt like we were old friends just catching up from last week during our session.  The little girl totally stole the show.  Can you blame her? 

 

Love engagement sessions - Saskatoon photographers

I LOVE doing engagement sessions.  Here is a little teaser from my first engagement session of the year.  These two claim they have never been in front of the camera, but I think they might be pulling my leg because they were so natural from the first frame to the last.  I can't wait to post more from their session! 

Then & Now IV - Saskatoon photographers

I was debating whether or not I should do a 'Then & Now' series.  Does anyone really want to admit how bad they once were?  It's not that I was really that bad... I did choose some of the images that were probably some of the worst from the sessions (to give myself some credit;)).  I find it's really neat for me to see the transformation over the years, and to see how far I've come.  

This next shot, is from a family shoot I did after being in business for a year or so.  It is one of those shots that is so timeless.  It's something that you could order as a large wall canvas and still have it hanging on your living room wall as art 20 years later.  

I'm so glad that this mom comes to me every couple of years for their family photos.  This little girl has grown up so much and now has a little brother who was around the same age as she was in the photo above.  I've said it before and I will say it again... my greatest joy comes when I get to see my clients families grow and capture their memories for them.  Loving this shot below just as much as the top one.  Here is a great 'Then & Now' where I love both images equally:).   

Crazy monkey - Saskatoon photographers

These kids have seen my lens many times, and I am grateful for their adorable smiles:).  Can't wait to see them again, a little taller and a little older.  I'm hoping my crazy monkey, that I do to make kids smile, will still work on them over the years.  So far, so good!

Winter shoots - Saskatoon photographers

The last time I photographed this family, this little princess was in her mom's belly.  It was so great to get them in front of the camera again, about 2.5 years later:).  I hope to get them in front of the camera again, just hoping it's a little sooner than 2.5 years from now because look how cute they are!  

I just love to shoot in the winter.  This is one reason why...

I am so excited about the newest addition to my home studio here in Saskatoon, this 40x60 canvas. It is so stunning, I just love it!  Please disregard the iPhone picture, I was just too excited, I had to share:).  Hope you are all staying nice and warm out there.

My hubby finished his paternity leave yesterday.  The kiddos and I already miss him:).  Isn't he handsome?

Happy New Year to all of my blog followers and to all my amazing clients.  Looking back at the last year, I am so grateful to all of the people in my life, whether it be family, friends, clients and colleagues.  You have all touched my life in one way or another.  I am so thankful that our paths have crossed in life.  

With a new year comes new beginnings.  I've been wanting to do these for a while, and now my 2014/2015 wedding clients will get this awesome little bundle when they book a wedding through us.  This welcome pack includes all sorts of goodies including lots of information on sessions, a just for grooms section, as well as a discount to an amazing make up artist.  It's just one of those little added bonuses when you book through us.  This year we really want to go above and beyond for our clients, and this is just a little way to make that happen:).
