Top 10 list for planning a wedding

10. Get a 'wedding planner' book. They have all the check lists and help you stay organized.

9. Choose a great wedding party. Be sure to choose people who mean the world to you and would bend over backwards to make sure your day runs smoothly.

8. Book a good band or DJ. They will make sure the party runs just how you want it to go.

7. Buy handmade gifts for your attendants. Head down to your local farmers market or check out etsy.com.

6. Make your wedding reflect who you are. It's your day, choose a theme that reflects you.

5. Splurge on one thing, whether it be upgrading the menu, the transportation, the invitations, or the dress.

4. Choose a great MC. This is a big job and can be a little nerve racking, so be sure to choose a comedian who you know will be up for the job.

3. Take a marriage prep class. Even if you've lived together for the last 5 years, a prep class will help you to communicate based on your personalities and prepare you for the rest of your life as husband and wife.

2. Be sure to have a wedding coordinator on the big day. Whether you hire someone (RSVP in Saskatoon is wonderful!!), or assign a friend or family member to take on the task, it's great to have one person in charge to make sure everything runs smoothly.

1. Hire a good photographer (I bet you didn't see that one coming...lol). Be sure to choose a photographer based on their style and personality. Once the big day is over, your wedding images will be all you have to bring back the memories for years to come.
