Emotional baby - Saskatoon photographers

This little baby gets so emotional over his mama singing to him.  I have to admit, it made me a little emotional just watching it.  I haven't posted a video in a while, but this one was too cute not to share:).

We all start somewhere - Then & Now 1 - Saskatoon photographers

This week I went and dug out all of my old back up's.  It was pretty funny to see my work from back in 2007.  The year that I finished photography school and took the leap into starting my own business.  While there are some images that are still my favorites to date, there are others where I had to ask myself, what in the heck was I thinking???  My busy season is slowing coming to an end, so I thought it would be a great time to look back at where I came from and look ahead to where I am now.

This first session was my very first session that I had backed up. I remember still being in school while doing this session, hanging up a sheet and doing some maternity photos for my sister in law.  While she looks absolutely stunning, my angles and Photoshop skills were less than impressive.  While I did get some really beautiful images from this shoot, this particular shot was not my finest hour.  The 'now' part of this post is actually my other sister in law.  It is my most recent maternity session.  Wow, have I come a long way:).  Please feel free to comment on these posts.  I would love to hear your thoughts!

Then - She is stunning, my photography, not so much, lol

Now - Stunning lighting, pose, natural expressions.  Loving it!

Stay tuned for more 'Then & Now' posts coming soon!

Wakaw wedding - Saskatoon photographers

When I heard that this couple was getting married in Wakaw, I was so excited!  I have never photographed a wedding there before, and it is really close to my parents place.  My parents have a business called Mistik Acres (http://mistikacres.blogspot.ca/).  They grow fresh flowers on their farm and sell them to flower shops around town, as well as do wedding flowers, centerpieces, bouquets, or sell them to DIY brides who want to make up their own!  (This bride ordered all of her flowers from them.  Aren't they beautiful?)

They have fields of flowers and I have always wanted to photograph a bride and groom there.  Luckily this couple was up for it!  Our coverage started right after the ceremony, which took us to a little old homestead which was totally off the beatin' path.  We did some photos there, then made a quick pit stop at the couples home, then off to my parents place we went!

The day was hot... like probably the hottest day of the year hot.  Looking back at these images, I would take that heat over the little snowflakes we had this morning:).

Here is a small sample of their day.  The best couples find me, and I'm so thankful!  I had such a great day with these guys.  And the wedding party was HILARIOUS!!!  Happy Monday:).

Watching families grow - Saskatoon photographers

My favorite thing about my job is watching families grow.  Over the next little while I will be posting families, all of which, have been in front of my camera before.  To see one of my wedding couples have their first baby, or to see that baby become a toddler and even a preschooler is so awesome.  I am so thankful for the clients who call me every year or ever other year to capture their family.  It really means the world to me:).

I went to photography school with this mama.  Back then their girl was 2 and modeled for us in class.  Her wedding was my second wedding I had ever photographed, and I have been photographing her xmas card photos ever since.  While we really only see each other once a year, during her family's session, everytime we see each other it's like we just pick up where we left off.  I love photographing her and watching her little ones grow.  This year, their newest addition is Emmy.  Their adorable puppy.
